An unpleasant sensation caused by touching certain materials like velvet, peaches, or velour. This plant has grade A, smoooooooooth, velvety leaves. If you identify with the above condition – we don’t recommend this plant.
Ludisia Disolor- commonly known as Jewel Orchid- is grown for its interesting, very dark velvety leaves with pinstripe markings. In certain light the maroon colour underneath the leaves can shine through and turn the white lines a hue of red. It flowers from September to March, however the flowers aren’t show stoppers.
If you are passionate about the foliage of Ludisia discolor and don’t care about the flowers, pinch out the flowering spikes when they start to form. This encourages the plant to remain compact and bushy, producing more leaves whereas allowing the flowering to take place can encourage the plant to become leggy.
Upon purchase, you will receive the plant in a plastic nursery pot size 9cm if you choose small or 12 if you choose large plant. Small plant has one stalk while large minimum 4 in one pot.
