Care tips
LIGHT Philodendron can survive in low light but grows faster and produces more leaves in medium to high light. Never put any philodendron plant in direct sun. POTTING Re-pot only when it has become root-bound in its existing container. Smaller pots help prevent over-watering. Plant a philodendron in a well-aerated houseplant soil that drains quickly. WATER Water well and nd then allow the top 50% of the soil to dry out before watering again. Yellow leaves indicate over-watering and brown leaves mean the plant needs more water. TOXICITY All philodendrons contain calcium saltboxes and are considered very poisonous plants with a #2 toxicity level when consumed. NASA lists philodendron as a clean air plant that removes formaldehyde, a chemical found in insulation, floor coverings, cleaning agents, pressed wood, and even paper towels, from the air.
